Members of SFS DK 2015-2016:
Ulrica Lunström - Chairman of SFS DK
I’m a registered occupational therapist and my research is about participation in everyday life among persons aging with spinal cord injuries. I defended my thesis in June 2015 at Luleå University of Technology [LTU]. The quality of doctoral studies and issues regarding being a PhD student are something that I’m dedicated to work with and I’ve had the opportunity to do so since 2011 first on a local level; by being a chairman for the PhD Student section and also a PhD student representative in the steering group at the Health Science department, LTU. Since July 2015, I’m a part of SFS DK and I really enjoy working with PhD students related questions on a national level. In my spare time; I like running, biking, and reading/listening to books among many other things.
Maria Ekström - board member
I started working in SFS-DK this year because I want to strengthen relationships between PhD student unions and work together towards a better PhD student education. This interest has been growing during the years I worked for the PhD student guild at my university, Chalmers University of Technology. In addition to the work I do in SFS-DK and as the Vice Chair in the PhD student guild, I am in my third year as a PhD student in nanotechnology. My PhD work focuses on experimentally studing the interaction between an artificial atom and acoustic waves on top of the surface of a microchip. These acoustic waves spread similarly to water waves, but are seven order of magnitude smaller allowing us to communicate with quantum mechanical components such as the artificial atom.
I am a member of SFS-DK since summer 2015. I am in the last year of my PhD-Studies at Linnaeus University in Växjö in the computer science department. I joined SFS-DK because I think it offers a nice opportunity to have some political influence about open issues regarding the situation for doctoral students in Sweden. I also hope that I will be able to help with any issues or questions that one of you might have. Feel free to contact us at email@example.com if you have any questions or problems that you think we might be able to take a closer look at! We are also always looking for motivated people who would like to join our committee. I was not a member of our student union here at Linnaeus University before I joined SFS-DK, nor did I have a lot of experience working in a board or another committee. So even if you have never done something like this before: If you are interested do not hesitate to contact us or your local student union for more details.
